Members of RCI volunteered to plant pollinators at Pacheco Valley. Supported by Marin County Parks, several master gardeners and a few families with kids, over 500 milkweed starts were added to the site. This is the 3rd plot supported by the club in this area. Reports of butterflies and colorful caterpillars have been reported last fall. Butterflies stop here on their annual migration south. Since they only eat milkweed, we're pleased to give them an attractive "rest stop" on their journey.

Welcome to our Club!
In an annual event, RCI donated dozens of cookies to the Novato based Gilead House--a home for mothers and children in need of a safe place to live. Members of the club brought two dozen cookies, which were packaged for distribution to families in need. Leading the effort was Jayne Hulbert and accepting the cookies was Carrie Scrimshire, CEO of Gilead House.

In his annual appeararnce, Club president, Charley Vogt donned his Santa Suit to entertain the kids at North Marin Community Services. Shown here with Vanshika Nachnani NMCS CFO, Santa worked his magic to the delight of kids of all ages.
Past District Governor Steve Wright honored last year's club president, Ivar Olsen, with an acknowledgement of the club's generosity his leadership supported. While Ivar was president, 100% of club members donated at least $100 to the Annual Rotary International Fund; 100% of club members donated at least $100 to the Club Foundation, and members donated over $1,500 to the Polio Plus campaign--seeking to fill the gap left by a loss of $281M in government support of the program. In addition, RCI ranked #1 in Zones 26 and 27 in per capita giving.
Thank you, Ivar, for a year filled with community and international support, generosity of finance and spirit, as well as a deeper understanding of your native Norway.
