Join your District and fellow Club International (World Community) Service chairs for a social and a workshop. The event will be very casual with snacks and beverages provided. A few Rotarians will share their personal experiences. We will also provide take-away information on funding new projects, District-Designated Funds and other funding options, and information on future workshops. This event is in person and is open to all club presidents, presidents-elect, international service chairs, and anyone interested in international service projects. This is a great opportunity to meet others who are passionate about International Service. Please register so that we have enough refreshments and materials available. If you have questions or need more information, please contact District 5150 International Service Chair Ron Harness. |

All Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact Clubs are invited to participate in the 39th Annual California Coastal Clean-up Day on Saturday, September 23rd from 9 AM to 12 noon. Let's roll up our sleeves and help protect our environment: one of Rotary's Seven Areas of Focus. Plus, all three counties of District 5150 have coastlines and beaches to protect. This project is open to all age groups and abilities, and guests and potential members are welcome, too. You and your club can start your own clean-up project or join forces with other Rotary / Rotaract / Interact clubs, community organizations, and volunteers to clean up the same area. Select a county to view established clean-up projects for 2023: Since the start of California Coastal Clean-up Day in 1985, over one million Californians have removed over 20 million pounds of trash and recyclables from our state’s beaches, lakes, and waterways. District 5150 Clubs have participated in the clean-up efforts in recent years, including 16 clubs in 2022! Let's increase that number in 2023! The District 5150 Community Service Committee is encouraging all Rotary members to consider supporting the State's largest annual volunteer event and help clean up trash from the environment before the rains come and wash it out to the coast and ocean. We hope to have more clubs, even if only a few can from each club, participating this year. To be included in the list participating from our District or for questions or more information about this event, please contact Rotarian Sylvia Barry or call her at 415-717-0293. |

BUY Tickets go to: https://form.jotform.com/231776819469171 Rotary Club of Ignacio announces its second Burger, Brews, and Comedy Night fundraiser and BBQ at the Jonas Center at the Indian Valley Campus of the College of Marin from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, September 23, 2023. Everyone is invited to enjoy this special evening. Early bird tickets are just $100 a person (up until September 10 when they go to $110) with corporate sponsorship tables for 8 for $1,000 which include VIP seating and special event recognition. Local comedians performing at the event will include our Headliner Gina Stahl-Haven who is a Novato resident and San Francisco Bay Area based comic. Gina was the 2nd place winner of the 2019 San Francisco International Comedy Competition, was the first woman in 36 years and the only woman other than Ellen DeGeneres to hold this title. Our opening comedian is Sue Alfieri who is best known for her comedic story telling about her adventures being a New Jersey Italian and raising a family in California. She has performed at the Punchline, The Hollywood Improv and Comedy Store. Samson Koletkar (aka Mahatma Moses) was born in Mumbai and raised Jewish. Growing up in the world's most crowded city, Samson brings a refreshingly new approach to cerebral, witty, thought-provoking, clean humor with a first-generation immigrant perspective. A special treat for you will be Shawna McNulty, local singer and actor, who performed as Snow White with Beach Blanket Babylon. Shawna’s big voice will be accompanied by her pianist. “We're putting the "fun" back into fundraising to make this evening memorable.” Andrei Jigalin, President of the Rotary Club of Ignacio said, “We’ll have great food, great entertainment, and great auction items to round out the evening, all proceeds going to Rotary-sponsored local and international service projects.” Over the last year, Rotary Club of Ignacio provided nearly $100,000 worth of grants that included tree planting at the College of Marin, graduating senior college scholarships, monarch butterfly habitat restoration, Novato High School baseball dugout and internationally grants provided computers for disadvantaged youth in the Philippines, hygiene kits for needy children in Uganda, mobile medical clinics in Ukraine. Funds for these projects and more come from local sponsors and events like this one.
