MEETING MINUTES, 20 September, 2007 at Inn Marin, Ignacio

Submitted by Charles Swensen

September is Publicity month

The third meeting in the third month of the reign of our president, John, saw a coup launched by President Elect, Matt Pavone.  One must always beware of impatient heirs.  Following the pledge (can it count if it is led by a foreigner?) Larry Levy offered a thought for the day.

Announcements

-Matt Pavone, reminded all of the TGIF at Kirk Hylan’s house on 28 September.

-Gary Gonser put in a pitch for the play, The Seven Year Itch.

The Minnow:   Time to catch up (though he still hasn’t caught me for my wedding).

-Marie Borders’ husband had a birthday.  Neighbors stopped in to sing to him (revenge for what?).  Then she strapped on her hiking shoes (the way she said it begged the question if she put on anything else) and they went on a four mile hike.

-Pauline Stuber had an anniversary.  Only thirty-two years and she has already learned her husband’s name.  They took a cruise to Alaska (all the excuse you need to stoke the fires).

-Wendy Irving let slip that Jay had turned 69.  They had a dinner party and tried their hand (feet?) at stomping grapes.

-Matt Pavone blamed Daryl for his induction back on 9/9/99.

-Fran O’Brian booted another one.  Her word was “ennead” (a group on nine for those of us who were engineering students).

Matt Pavone then ejected all visiting Rotarians so they wouldn’t learn Shelley Klaner’s ideas for promoting the club.

Speaker/Program

Shelley Klaner gave an interactive talk on how to promote the club.  She started with the example of how Brittany Spear’s deplorable behavior has led to booming record sales.  “Sin for Rotary” next year’s motto.
