MEETING MINUTES October 27, 2005 at Inn Marin, Ignacio Submitted by Daryl Weinroth The meeting was duly called to order by President Tony Elshout. Peter Pelham led us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Reverend Stan Warner provided the invocation and thought for the day. Visiting Rotarians Bill Kelly introduced the following visiting Rotarians: Terry Linda and Tim Long from San Rafael, Don Violin, Bill Vespa, Jeff Joseph, Dave Kapranas and Richard Sumrall all from Novato plus Millie Anderson from Terra Linda. Guests John Tanko and guest Stan Lulie; Garry Gast and guest Rebecca Duset; Peter Pelham and guest Barbara Hernandez. Announcements Rich “Big Guy” Ronsheimer is back home and doing better. Art Wasserman - Sunday, December 18 at 5 pm for the Food Bank and Pizza. Larry Curtis – this Saturday is our work “Gala” to plant 150 plants on the median strip. Bring hoses, wheelbarrows, shovels and picks. Bill announced Saturday night is the Novato Rotaract’s 1st annual Halloween Bash ant Novato Days Inn. Lori Gast – Buy those Shirts!!!!
$15 and guaranteed to never wear out. $1 for failure to wear Rotary pin. Collected $246 (not really) Roland Fuette was fined for his 45th wedding anniversary with Mary Lou. No presents since previously gave her a kidney. Pauline Stuber was recognized for her induction, October 1987. Her sponsor was Tom Telfer. Marie Borders was recognized for her new location and ribbon cutting. Reverend Stan was recognized for a new car. Speaker/Program Tim Long from the Rotary Club of Terra Linda was selected as a team leader for US GSE Team 2005 to Mexico. He spoke on the experience as team leader. They flew into Tobasco where it was “hot” – really hot – 114 degrees. Traveled throughout 3 States and many long bus trips. He shared a slide show of the trip. He shared the varied topography changes from cities to deserts to small villages plus many examples of environmental projects such as recycling, cleaning water to drink, better farming techniques and visited Mayan ruins. There were very uplifting images of progress. This year’s team will be going to Chile with Novato’s Dean Heffelfinger as team leader. Team members this year did our district proud. While no vocational requirements, all were in public welfare. Raffle was won by

If you have a suggestion, please contact Dave Pitchford at 382-8150. Board Meetings Ignacio Rotary Board meetings are the 2nd Wednesday of the month. They meet at the Bank of Marin located at 378 Bel Marin Keys Blvd. They begin at 5 pm.
