Announcements

President Larry thanked Dean Moser for running the meeting while he was away.  He also thanked Dave Pitchford for his generous help with the Novato Theater Company move.  The only other volunteers from our Club beside Dave were Melissa Rinck, President Larry.  We were fortunate to have three Interacters who showed up to lend a hand.

Bill Doughty reported that the Median Strip work party drew between 10-12 volunteers, and the crew left the Strip a lot better than they found it -- thanks to you unsung heroes!!!

Billy Doughty announced the Second Annual Halloween Party hosted by the Novato Rotoract Club, a fundraiser which will include food, dancing, a silent auction and more for only $31pp.

Stan Warner will always need a car, but is also happy to accept bicycles for people in need.

Last call for those who haven't yet signed up for the Wine Tour on Saturday, October 21st, said Bob Carpenter -- there are 6-7 spaces left.  Contact him immediately if interested in attending this popular annual Club event.

Matt Pavone proudly announced the theme of next year's Monte Carlo Night -- "Monte Carlo Goes to Manhattan," which will feature fabulous NY landmarks and points of interest.  The auction prizes may include New York-themed items, and sound very intriguing...Dean Moser is credited with landing Brayton Purcell as the Major Sponsor, AND if that weren't enough, he also arranged for Brayton Purcell to pull the gaming license, permitting the event to continue as it has in past years, the only exception being that there will be no slot machines. BIG UPS to Dean and Matt!!!

Fine Time

Bruce Moeller celebrated his birthday with some of our finest Ignacio Rotarians at the Novato Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament.

Roland Fuette batched tasks by attending a wedding with his bride Marylou to commemorate their 46th wedding anniversary...way to go, Roland!

Marie Borders has not yet celebrated 16 years of wedded bliss to Jeff, nor has she feted Jeff's 40th birthday which was last month, but she promised to have something to report once the kids' soccer and football seasons have ended.

Speaker/Program

The speaker, our own Melissa Rinck, presented the program "The Profession of Dentistry" as part of the Club's Vocational Service fulfillment.  The bottom line:  No amount of new technologies, techniques or procedures will benefit you if you don't take care of your teeth and gums.  Thanks to Melissa for a very interesting presentation.

Do the right thing

The Foundation will be electing 3 new board members this year starting at our assembly on Nov 30th. Think about suitable candidates and any interested people should contact Matt Pavone. Note that absentees from the Nov 30th meeting will top the list. Seriously, it is a low key but enjoyable assignment with just 4 meetings per year.

 Do the thing right

Thank you Marie for taking the notes for this bulletin – Don it is your turn for the October 19th meeting.  J

 Having FUN doing it!

Phil Snell is our one member whose favorite color is orange.

Member SpotlightLarry sent out an email highlighting past President of Rotary International Cliff Dochterman’s visit in January.  Who is the only member (that I know of) in our club who went to college with his daughter?
