November is Foundation Month

The third of November our president, John, called the meeting to order at about 12:30.  Following the pledge led by Don Cliver, Larry Levy gave his thoughts for the day concerning the wisdom of life’s lessons.

Announcements

-Bill Kelly put in a pitch for the play on Friday and the Christmas party on 1 December.  The holiday party will be on 1 December at the hotel Mac.  Tickets are $50 each.

-Wendy Irving reminded us that Novato Human Needs volunteers to sort out food packages.

-Larry Levy has a field trip set up for Saturday. 

-Dave Pitchford needs volunteers for the dictionary program on 14 December.  We have three schools that we are responsible for.

-Art Wasserman called for food boxers on 16 December, pizza to follow.

-Jim Picchi noted that the music before the meeting was what was contemplated for Monte Carlo

-President Marshall announced a Monte Carlo meeting on 20 November 5pm (food included).

-Larry Dito, retiring Parks & Rec manager for Novato gave a farewell speech thanking us for the work we have done.  There will be a retirement party for him at the Margaret Todd Center to conclude his 35 year career on 29 November from 4:30 to 6:30.

Fines:

-Dallas Hickle missed his induction date and was fined accordingly.

-Wendy Irving got hers correct (despite) errors in the record and was fined accordingly

- Garry Gast took Lori to The Color Purple for her birthday

- Marie Borders daughter’s Pop-Warner football team won the championship.

- Peter Pelham had a family wedding with a soccer theme

- Bob Carpenter was asked how to get rid of raccoons.  This was not to be confused with the
   follow-up question concerning what a traditional Thanksgiving dinner consisted of.

Speaker/Program

Chris DeGabriele
of the North Marin Water District gave a discussion about the district, its water sources and plans.  He proudly pointed out that his district provided water at half the cost of MMWD.

Ignacio Rotary Board meetings are the 4th Tuesday of the month.  They meet at the Inn Marin.  They begin at 5:00 pm.
