MEETING MINUTES July 6, 2006 at Inn Marin, Ignacio

Submitted by Steve Minutoli

The first meeting of the New Year was called to order by President Larry Curtis, who asked Bill Doughty to lead us in the Pledge.  Larry Levi gave the invocation due to the fact that Pastor Stan is in the hospital and President Larry gave the thought for the day.

Visiting Rotarians

Phil and Jean Brown from the Novato Rotary, Mr. & Mrs. Boyd from Sunrise Santa Barbara and Dave Kopronos also from Novato.

Guests

Ramona Curtis joined us for President Larry’s first meeting.

Announcements

President Larry read a proclamation from Cynthia Murray for Past President Tony.

Denis Pepin will be leaving the club due to his move to Incline Village.  We wish him and Maxim the best.  Thank you for the wine with lunch today.

Roland Fuette was recognized for his participation not once but twice in the Novato Parade.

President Larry reminded everyone that next meeting is an evening mini Fireside – we will be emailed sometime this week, where we will be meeting.

Michael Fish announced that there are 4 spots available for a Rotoplast trip to Mexico, August 9 – 20.  This is a lot of hard work but the great joy and intrinsic rewards make it worthwhile.

The Rotoplast Bocci Ball Tournament fundraising event will be August 27 in San Rafael.  Join the team – it is a blast.

President Larry introduced his new board members – see list at the end of the bulletin.

Jerry Ghirardo presented a Paul Harris Fellowship to Ramona Curtis.

President Larry also outlined some of the changes for Monte Carlo announcing that a committee is in place however there is not a chair for the event as of yet.

Fine Time

Greg Call had an anniversary, which was spent at Mt. Shasta on a second honeymoon.

Steve Minutoli was recognized for something however since he was taking the minutes he did not write it down and the editor can not remember.

Wendy Irving and Jay celebrated their 29th anniversary where else but at Relay for Life.

Fran and Dick O’Brien also celebrated an anniversary – their 39th.  They are shooting for another 39 years.

Matt Pavone was recognized for his wife’s birthday.

And Larry Levy was off by one day when he tried to remember his induction into Rotary.

Speaker/Program

Fran gave a short talk on her membership committee and their goals for this year.

Roland shared that Larry Levy will be a member of the Club Service committee taking care of “Sunshine”, keeping in touch with those in need.

Raffle

Denis won the first raffle and others also won bottles of wine.
