President John thanked all the folks who helped make the debunking a success:  Roland for all his hard work – food, venue and so many good ideas; Rob for a great job as MC; Daryl, “the funny guy” with Dick and Chuck; Michael the PowerPoint wizard; Roberta for the decorations; Luann for the joke book; Tony, the photographer; Rich and Marie set-up and clean up; Joe, Bob, Paul and Jack who tended the bar; Steve helped with setup, teardown and with the food and last but certainly not least Fred for the salad and setup.

Shelley Klaner thanked everyone who helped with the 4th of July float.  Everyone had a great time.

Past President Larry Curtis shared that the signup is going around for the work party at the playground this Saturday at 9 am.

Bill Kelly reminded everyone about the party this Sunday at the home of Catheryne DiPrete.  This is after the fishing trip and our first fellowship event.

Presentations

Monte Carlo proceeds were presented to Dietrich Stroeh for the gazebo at Pioneer Park.

Luann Jackman shared a “craft talk” about herself, the YMCA and non-profits in Marin County.

Fine Time/Recognition

Greg Call and his lovely bride cruised the Mediterranean for their anniversary (30).

Dick O’Brien was inducted on June 29, 1996.  Daryl was his sponsor.

Bill Kelly was talking about something regarding the hardware store and his anniversary (46).

Larry Levy joined Rotary on July 7, 1993 and his sponsor was Leslie Randolph.

The 40th anniversary for Dick and Fran O’Brien was celebrated in Calistoga.

Paul Hutchinson’s anniversary was celebrated by wife going to a fancy spa in Mexico.  He is grateful to Outlook for the reminder.

Daryl Weinroth has paid his official Weinroth for his “fines” for the year.  Anyone can do this.  If you need a further explanation about this – contact Daryl.

Catherine Munson was inducted July in 1987 and was sponsored by Bill Cope.

Speaker/Program

President John Marshall was the program.  He shared about some of the things that came up in the firesides about communication.  We will be attempting to increase our methods of communication.  The hope is to utilize an intranet site in the future.

Announcements this coming year will be one-minute.  So please plan ahead so you can be succinct.  Please let President John know you have an announcement prior to the meeting.

Sign-ups during the meeting, for an event, send around once and then follow-up with emails.  Please set up a group in your email so you can accomplish this.  If you need help setting up the group, ask the Prez, Kirk, Luann or another member of the club for help.

Check the web site often for when there will be meetings and events.  Past President Tony puts a lot of work into this and keeps it up to date.  The social calendar is there as well as in the bulletin.

A calendar with all the events, meetings, etc. will be available soon.  President John will email this out.

Committee assignments are out – if you haven’t heard let President John know.

Look in bulletin for updates.

Membership is one of the main areas of emphasis for this year – Rotary Shares.  Share Rotary with everyone.  Be thinking about whom you can bring to lunch – we all know potential members.

President John would like to have us get to know each other a bit more and have some fun.  He introduced an icebreaker at this meeting.  Luann had everyone write down something they didn’t think others knew about them on an index card, she collected them and then read them aloud.  The club then tried to guess who “was a cheerleader?” and who “played football?” to name a few.  The rest of the cards will be read in the future.
