MEETING MINUTES February 16, 2006 at Inn Marin, Ignacio

Submitted by Dean Moser

Well, since Dean forgot to take minutes of the meeting, these minutes will be the best his memory will allow.

President Tony asked Bob Finer to open the meeting with the pledge and Pastor Stan gave the invocation and word for the day, which had something to do with the fact that he needs another car.  The Bronco, past president Garry Gast gave to him, has run out of gas and now Stan needs another car.

Visiting Rotarians

Not sure if there were any.

Guests

We had several spouses at our Valentine’s Day meeting:  Ramona with Larry, Vicki with David, Jessica with Art,  Lori with Garry, JoAnne with Bill, Lynn with Fred, Monty with Greg, Sally with President Tony.

Announcements

We had the “induction” of Thomas Chesus who was sponsored by Bruce Moeller.  First we couldn’t find the inductee.  Then, (this was the start of our President’s bad day) no one knew who was going to be the inductor.  Tony looked at Bruce and Bruce looked at Daryl Weinroth and Daryl looked at Tony but then, Bruce rose to the occasion and struggled through the induction of Tom.  Good job Bruce!

Next we had Susan Gilmore tell us that the Valentine Ball fundraiser went well with 600 guests.  Susan presented the club with a $500.00 check for the rental of Dean and Kirk for the evening.

Then, guess what!!!  We heard from Greg Chidlaw on Monte Carlo.  He asked that we now concentrate on the silent auction prizes.  We have about 50 at the present time but need about 125.  The most important thing he said was that we need to get the ticket stubs filled in and back as soon as possible.  It was because all but about 5 guest attending the Valentine Ball we pre-registered that there was less than a 3-minute wait to get in.  Get your ticket stubs to John Marshall as soon as possible.  Greg then called on Rob to comment on someone who lost a spelling bee in elementary school.

Fine Time

Next we had Wood Chuck fine a bunch of people: for induction dates President Tony and some others, Don Wichman for his birthday, Dave Pitchford for his anniversary. There were a few other fines, but I can’t remember what they were.  I do remember, however, that this day was a very bad day for our President and he fined himself $5.00 for forgetting his badge.

Speaker/Program

Dave Pitchford read us a very nice poem written by a friend the essence of which was to enjoy life while you have the time.  Then continuing his very, very bad day our President went to read his poem and after searching everywhere he just couldn’t find the poem.  He promised he would read it to us next week; so, stay tuned.
