MEETING MINUTES April 6, 2006 at Inn Marin, Ignacio

Meeting was called to order by President Tony Elshout, who asked Steve Minutoli to lead us in the Pledge and Pastor Stan give the invocation and thought for the day (Proverbs 16, verse 3).

Visiting Rotarians

From Novato, Gale Ackerman joined us today.

Guests

Anna Levinson’s son Nicholas, Pastor Stan Warner’s wife Helen and Larry Levy’s guest Jack Marshall joined us today.

Announcements

Pastor Stan announced he has given away 300 bicycles over the past few years.  Also he is 83 today.

Bill Doughty announced a median strip work party on April 15 if it is not raining.  (Will it ever stop raining?)

John Tanko announced that the BBQ at MacKey Terrace would be May 6 from 12 – 3 pm.

Fine Time

Rob the Griz” Sundberg sought out Catherine Munson for her birthday, celebrated in Palm Springs and her trip around the world.

Art Wasserman celebrated his 36th anniversary with Jessica.  They will be going to Carmel soon.

Fried Pfeifer’s induction was in April of 99 and his sponsor’s were Jeff Meston and Michael Fish.

Phil Snell was inducted in April 91 sponsored by Michael Fish.

Daryl Weinroth was inducted in April 87 with Dan Holland as his sponsor.

Bob Kane sponsored Luann Jackman who joined in April of 99.

Bob Carpenter celebrated a birthday with a day off, a nap, worked on the pool and had dinner at the Buckeye.

Roberta DiPrete celebrated her birthday with her daughter as the very fancy Michael Minna in SF.

Larry Curtis took the opportunity to join his wife at the Soroptomist Dinner where he was the only male in attendance.

Pastor Stan shared that his anniversary is coming up and will be 60 years married to Helen.

Catherine Munson was honored again for an article in the newspaper about real people in Marin.

Rob Sundberg was quoted in the Chronicle about Barry bonds and the Giants.

Speaker/Program

Janice Cotton from the Buck Institute for Age Research, spoke to us on the Dawn of a New Aging and the trends which are leading to important research being done at the Institute.  Mimi Schreiber who is the assistant director of development also joined her.

Not sure about the raffle results.
